My assumption then was the pistol was post war, probably 1948-9. The only information was that the guns were made until 1949 and this gun was about 5,000 numbers from the last serial number. As I was talking with a friend who worked there, he got out a small pocket book on Brownings and we looked it up. ![]() What impressed me was the over one million serial number, “1081923,” but I knew little about these guns. The pistol was priced reasonably and I thought I might buy it. My friends claim I have “gun karma” and, perhaps, that is true. ![]() ![]() I later found it had been there for a week or two. I purchased it from a large LGS and almost missed it, as it was small and somewhat hidden amongst other larger guns. I recently acquired this rare 1905 Browning Vest Pocket.
